HISTORY

Dr. Greg Golden is a third-generation dentist. His grandfather, Morris H. Golden, practiced general dentistry in Philadelphia for thirty years through some very tough times including two World Wars and The Depression. The legacy of his artistic talents lives on through numerous paintings and artwork he did before near blindness forced his retirement.

Greg's father, Irwin "Hank" Golden, received his doctorate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and served in the U.S. Army as a dental surgeon during the Korean War. In 1948 he moved his family to Ontario, California, as one of only two practicing general dentists in the city. In 1968, he relocated to Upland in a brand new office building he and three other dentists designed. He remained in Upland for forty years and established many long-term relationships with his patients, many of whom became close friends.

His love for the science of dentistry led to a long list of lifelong affiliations with numerous leaders in the field. In 1972, he became a teacher and co-founder of the Orthognathic Study Group at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, and he later co-authored the textbook, History of Gnathology, (the study of rebuilding dental occlusion.) In 1993 he wrote the text, Teeth for Your Lifetime: A Complete, Easy to Read, & Understandable Guide to a Lifetime of Dental Health. Hank Golden retired from dentistry in his forty-fifth year of practice.

Greg became interested in dentistry while doing lab-work in his father's office during summer vacations from high school. From 1971 to 1975 he attended The University of Southern California and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree and Doctorate Degree in Dental Surgery. After graduation, Greg worked in several local metropolitan offices building experience and learning new techniques while also developing his own clientele. In 1986 he purchased his father's practice in Upland. In response to practice growth and demographics, in 1999 he moved to the current location in Rancho Cucamonga.

Greg continues the tradition and philosophy of providing state-of-the-art dentistry, in a caring, relaxed atmosphere, where his patients' health and desires are foremost concerns.
